Weather for the 2010 World Cup

Sunny South Africa

Best known as “sunny South Africa”, our country has a warm to hot climate, making it one of the best year-round destinations in the world. Most provinces enjoy a summer rainfall with occasional afternoon thunderstorms. Snow usually occurs on the high mountain peaks of the Cape and KwaZulu-Natal during winter. The Western Cape gets most of its rain in winter and in the host city of Durban, it seems that it’s summer all year round.

The 2010 World Cup takes place during the South African winter, which means days will be generally mild, temperate and dry (with the exception of Cape Town), but the nights are cold - so come prepared.
